Hello!

Thank you for your interest in the HR Business Partner role at BIMA and for taking the time to explore this opportunity.

Having joined the business in 2018, I have seen us take significant steps in building a Global Group of HR professionals that is at the heart of growing and transforming our company.

We are really excited about the opportunities we have as a business and the impact we are making to the lives of many of the under-served people in the countries we operate in.

Role overview:

The Global HR Business Partner is based in London and reports to the Head of Global HR. Both are supported by an HR Assistant role (also based in London) and the remainder of the HR Team is made up of local HR Managers, spread across the 10 countries where BIMA operates (scroll down to see HR Org Chart).

This role will work closely with the Head of HR to build the capability of this group to develop, roll out and embed a range of global HR activities, processes, and initiatives. The ability to mentor and collaborate with the international team (all of whom are developing their own HR capabilities) is key to the success.

Partnering with senior business leaders, the HRBP will need to quickly gain an understanding of the business strategy and drivers to support the Head of HR with developing and executing an HR strategy to drive business results – the impact upon the bottom line in this role is clear and immediate.

The HRBP will work on cross-company global initiatives as well as supporting local HR Managers in the company’s markets in Asia and Africa, to drive business impact in their HR work. The HRBP will need to be comfortable partnering on the full spectrum of people-related topics, often with local HR Managers who are building their own HR skill set.

VALUES

Earn & give respect | Take ownership | Think big - start small

PURPOSE

Protect the future of every family

BELIEFS

We live in a world where billions of people are not protected against life’s biggest financial and health risks.

We believe that every human being should have access to a safety net for their families, regardless of the country they are born into.
We believe in giving people the power to take control of their lives.

Where will I be based?

BIMA are London-based and so it’s really important that the candidate can get into London to collaborate with those teams. Post COVID, BIMA anticipate a flexible approach to office-based and home working, depending on the needs of the business and type of work being conducted.

Will I be expected to travel?

Ambiguity (1)

There is some travel to BIMA's non-UK locations but only a handful of trips per year are anticipated. For example; one per quarter, for 2-3 days each, maximum.

What regions are BIMA present in?

Ambiguity (2)

Non-UK locations are: Ghana, Tanzania, Pakistan, Indonesia, Cambodia, Malaysia, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, India and the Philippines. BIMA have a local HR Manager in each, except for Singapore which is supported by London's HR Team.

What will the interview process look like?

Successfully shortlisted candidates will have two formal interviews; one with the Head of HR (direct manager) and one with the CFO (a key stakeholder who sits on the SLT). There might also be 1 or 2 ‘informationals’; one with another member of the London HR team (ideally a coffee) and, possibly, one with a market HR Manager.
